With a Light Touch  A mid-20th-century desk and an Arne Jacobsen chair in the office area of the attic; the telescope was found at a Charleston, South Carolina, estate sale, and antique ballot boxes are displayed on custom-made pedestals.
"A closet interior is curry yellow, in contrast to the otherwise neutral palette. The drawings are of the city in another time. “I love how Charleston looked before everything was fixed up,” he said. "
 
 
Overlooking Fort Sumter on the Charleston Harbor, this 7,000 square foot home has it all. Large coffered beams with a multiple piece crown, elaborate full height kitchen, wet bar and cabinets extending throughout the home make this creation stand apart.
Situated on a narrow lot on Sullivan's Island, South Carolina, this home was designed for a busy family of five. The living space had to accommodate their three young boys but also be fit for entertaining.
The next time you see the exterior of an historic home don't
assume the interior is 'antique-y' or traditional.  That's one
reasons why surprises can be so much fun!

  2. Jan, Charleston is my very favorite Southern town. My very favorite restaurant is there also...Magnolias. It has been a few years since I've had the chance to visit. Now I am yearning to head back. Love the interiors. I always enjoy walking in beautiful homes and finding a surprise. Bonnie
